Welcome to Field Service Companion! This app is designed to help you remember the people you meet in the ministry and continue meaningful conversations with them.
Getting the App
Field Service Companion is free to download:
- iPhone, iPad, and Mac (Apple silicon): Field Service Companion on the App Store — see Installing on iPhone, iPad, and Mac
- Android phones, tablets, and Chromebooks with Google Play: Field Service Companion on Google Play — see Installing on Android
You can install the app on more than one device, but each device keeps its own records for now — syncing between devices is planned for a future release. Until then, Backup and Restore can move your records from one device to another.
Signing In
When you open Field Service Companion for the first time, you will need to sign in. This requires an internet connection.
- Open the app.
- Choose Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete sign-in.
Once you have signed in, the app works fully offline. You do not need an internet connection to add contacts, log visits, or use any core features.
Note: If you do not have internet access at first launch, the app will display a message: "Sign in requires an internet connection. Once signed in, the app works fully offline." Connect to the internet, sign in, and then you can use the app anywhere — even with no signal at all.
If Sign-in Won't Complete
On some networks, Sign in with Google can take a long time or never finish. If the Google sign-in screen does not respond, try Sign in with Apple instead — it usually completes right away, and the app will suggest this for you if it notices Google is not responding. Both options open the same app with the same features.
If Sign in with Apple shows a message about iCloud, make sure your device is signed in to iCloud (open Settings, then tap your name at the top), and try again.
The Welcome Screens
The first time you open the app — before you sign in — a short set of welcome screens shows what Field Service Companion is built to do:
- See who to visit next — Your dashboard brings forward the conversations ready to continue.
- Your calls, on a map — See where everyone is, with directions in one tap.
- A gentle reminder when it's time to return — Log a visit, choose when to come back, and the app keeps track.
Swipe through the screens, or tap Skip to go straight to sign-in. They're shown once, on your first launch. If you ever want to see them again, go to Settings → Restart welcome tour.
What's on Each Tab
The bottom of the screen has four tabs:
- Home — Your dashboard. Surfaces who to visit next, what's coming up, and a summary of your month.
- Contacts — A searchable list of everyone you have added. Tap a contact to see their visit history; tap + to add or import.
- Map — A map view showing your contacts by address, so you can plan your route.
- Settings — Backup, accessibility options, and app information.
To log a visit, open the contact (from any of the first three tabs), then tap Log a visit on their detail screen. There is no separate "Visit" tab — visits are always logged in the context of a specific contact.
Free Plan
Field Service Companion is free to use. The free plan supports up to 500 contacts with all core features. A Premium plan with cloud sync and additional features is planned for a future version.
